Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

I’m Todd, an average guy (From NE Ohio) who fell in love with cycling 12 years ago. I was a college athlete and still need to scratch the competitive itch every now and then, even if it is to just test and push myself. Cycling on the road or gravel is so peaceful and yet euphoric. Over the years, I have made several, what some would consider long-distance, rides; the RAIN (One Day Ride Across Indiana), ODRAM (One Day Ride Across Michigan), Pan Ohio Hope Ride (Cincinnati to Cleveland) , the Great Allegheny Passage/ Chesapeake & Ohio Canal (DC to Pittsburgh)(did it solo in 2 1/2 days), out and back in one day of the Ohio to Erie Canal trail along with many others.
In 2018 I started this blog as a way of documenting my travels and to share experiencing with fellow riders. Back in 2018, one of my 2018 goals was to ride 1,000 miles of Ohio’s bike trails (both short & long), share my experience, training tips and points of interest I garner along the way. Nailed it! I continued the quest thru 2019 and plan to continue now into 2020.
I tried a few gravel races in 2019, the Barry Roubaix in Hastings, Michigan and the Funk Bottoms Gravel Race near Mohican State Park in Central Ohio. More and more Rails-to-Trail keep popping up, which is awesome. The the best of my knowledge, I have covered every marked gravel trail, bike trail in Ohio that is more than 5 miles long.
2020 Covid-19 lockdown has really put the brakes on any major travel to search out new trails and rides. The 2021 calendar, my goals will be the KATY Trail in Missouri. (pushed to 2022) Also, the Ohio to Erie Trail, Cincinnati to Cleveland which I will attempt solo and in only 2 days. (check my 2021 post as I completed OTET, Cleveland to Cincinnati in 2 days solo – check mark 🙂 )Please follow my posts as the spring opens up to summer.
Comments always appreciate.
