Hilliard is located on the west side of Columbus. The trail head starts in Old Hilliard/Hilliard station, a really cool area; couple of bar/restaurants and city water park along with a very nice “welcome to the trail” area.
The Heritage Rail Trail, a 6.1-mile multi-purpose trail converted from abandoned right-of-way. The paved trail starts in Old Hilliard off Main Street and continues toward Plain City.
The trail is a straight shot, well maintained run. There are several community access points which give a ride-able access to Old Hilliard. Mile markers are posted and a shoulder area for gravel riders or horse runs parallel to the asphalt. I understand there are plans to continue the trail on the Plain City.
